Southwest Christian School - Boston Adventure 2025

Join us for a 4-day Boston adventure, exploring the deep Christian heritage and historical significance of this iconic city. From the early Pilgrims who set sail for religious freedom to the revolutionary spirit that shaped our nation, we will delve into the faith-filled roots of American history. Southwest Christian students and families will have the opportunity to visit key sites that highlight Boston’s pivotal role in the development of our Christian values and American culture. Together, we’ll discover the stories of courage and perseverance that have shaped both Boston and our nation’s journey.

PROPOSED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival into Boston!

  • Board your 7am, nonstop flight from DFW to BOS
  • Lunchtime! Clam Chowda anyone?
  • Kick off your adventures with a visit and tour of the iconic Fenway Park. Learn the history, the stories and then climb up to the famous Green Monster!
  • Explore Boston’s Back Bay and learn about the Boston Public Library and Boston Marathon.
  • Enjoy a welcome dinner! Adults, you’ll be dining at Maggiano’s Little Italy while the Chaperones and Students head over to Fire and Ice!
  • End the day at the top of the Prudential Center for the newest attraction, VIEW BOSTON, for breathtaking views  of the city!

Day 2: Jump into the Revolution & Pilgrims

  • Head to Lexington Green and re-create the battle the Minutemen faced when the British arrived
  • Head to Concord and step back in history to the “Shot Heard ‘Round the World!
  • Enjoy lunch
  • Head to Plimouth – see Plimouth Rock and tour the Gristmill
  • Explore the Plimouth Patuxet Museum and see what life was like for the Pilgrims and local Indigenous peoples
  • Mayflower II – Climb aboard and experience what the 1620 crossing was like for the Pilgrims. Explore the ship and hear stories of life onboard from expert guides
  • Visit the 17th Century English Village – Meet the people who live there and ask questions about life on the settlement. You can lend a hand in the garden, learn a dance , serve in the milita or even help with chores! It’s like jumping into a history book! 
  • Interact with the Historic Patuxet where you learn about the Native peoples who have lived here for over 12,000 years
  • Head back towards Boston and enjoy Dinner and Bowling tonight!

Day 3: Boston’s Freedom Trail – Revolutionary History

  • Introduction to Boston’s Freedom Trail
  • Start the Freedom Trail with stops in Boston’s historic North End. See the Old North Church, Paul Revere’s House and Copp’s Hill Burial Ground
  • Lunch at the Historic Faneuil Hall, a site along the Freedom Trail
  • Finish the Freedom Trail – From the Boston Common, to the State House, Old State House, Site of the Boston Massacre and so much more!
  • Finish the day with a great evening activity!

Day 4: Finish the trail!

  • Visit the Charlestown Navy Yard and climb aboard the toughest ship in the fleet, Old Ironsides!
  • Explore the Bunker Hill Monument and learn about that famous battle!
  • Head to the Boston Tea Party Ship & Museum and learn about that famous day when we tossed tea into the harbor in protest
  • Enjoy a farewell lunch together in Harvard Square
  • Depart for home with memories that will last a lifetime!

Lisa Robinson

Hello! My name is Lisa Robinson. I serve SCS as the middle school Spanish teacher, trip coordinator, and the middle school girls’ soccer coach. I have been teaching middle school and high school Spanish, personal finance, yearbook, art and Bible the last five years.  My husband, Jay, and I have four girls.  Jada (13), Riley (11), Hadley (9) and Keira (7).  I am very excited to be at SCS and enjoy serving SCS families!

  • We encourage you to pay by bank transfer, which is extremely easy to set up. The tour price is based on paying directly from your bank; paying by credit card will incur an extra 2.9% fee (charged by the processor).

Preferred Travel Protection Plan

  • We offer travel insurance as part of travel protection plans from our partner TripAssure.
  • To cover you for the unforeseen, we encourage participants to purchase travel insurance, which may include benefits for trip cancellation, trip interruption, missed connection, travel delay, medical expense/emergency evacuation, baggage and personal effects, baggage delay and more. 
  • Covid-19 and its various strains are treated the same as any other Sickness under the travel protection plan.
  • TripAssure offers the Basic, Deluxe Plan and Deluxe Plus Plan options. Familiarize yourself with the
    contents of each plan to ensure to get the one that best suits your needs. 
  • The travel protection plan that includes “Cancel for any reason” coverage must be purchased within 21 days of enrollment with your deposit.
