Day 1
- Depart for Washington DC in the morning
- National Treasure? Let’s see the most important storage facility in the United States, The National Archives. See the Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence, and understand how they impact our lives today and ensure our basic freedoms
- Tonight we visit iconic memorials! Learn about WWII, Martin Luther King, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson
Day 2
- Explore Mount Vernon, George Washington’s estate, and tour the mansion and grounds that he shared with Martha. Learn about life on a Plantation as you step back in time to colonial life!
- See the Iwo Jima Memorial and honor every battle the Marines have been in since founded in 1775!
- Visit Capitol Hill! After a guided tour of the Nations Capitol, take a picture at the Library of Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court
- Visit amazing memorials, including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial
Day 3
- Visit the inspirational Museum of the Bible and learn the narrative, history, and impact of The Bible in a series of specialized exhibits. This includes a virtual reality tour of the lands of the Bible and a special “flight” around the US Capitol. This revolutionary ride highlights the Bible’s presence permanently etched into some of our national monuments and landmarks
- Visit the Washington Monument and experience the incredible views from the top of this iconic structure!
- Tour Fords Theatre and hear the story of that fateful day the President was assasinated
- Visit the National Portrait Gallery where you can tour the American Presidents portraits
- Later, grab a selfie at the White House!
Day 4
- Start the day with a campus tour of Patrick Henry a conservative Christian College whose mission is to prepare Christian men and women who will lead our nation and shape our culture with timeless biblical values and fidelity to the spirit of the American founding
- Head to Gettysburg where you will take a guided tour through the battlefield and hear detailed stories about what happened here. Before heading out to that “great battlefield,” gain insight into the battle, the stories and personalities by starting your visit with the Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience
Day 5
- Take a downtown walking tour and learn about finance on Wall Street and the tragic events of 9/11 as you pay your respects at the 9/11 Memorial plus other downtown highlights
- Take a subway ride and explore Central Park
- Visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art
- Explore 5th Avenue and visit St. Thomas church to experience their iconic Choral Evensong. This spiritual service as arranged in the Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England has been sung regularly since the sixteenth century
- Visit Rockefeller Center and take a ride up to Top of the Rock, an incredible observation deck where you can see the entire city from a birds eye view
- Time for a photo stop in Times Square
Day 6
- This morning we gather our things and load up onto our luxury coach and head to Boston
- Tour the Freedom Trail and step back in time as we see historic buildings, graves, Paul Revere’s House and the Old North Church – famous from Henry W. Longfellow in his poem, “Paul Revere’s Ride”
- Dinner and a special evening event is planned for our final night!
Day 7
- Today we visit the historic town of Lexington where we’ll stand on Lexington Green and hear about the brave minute men who stood their ground at the start of the American Revolution
- Visit Concord where “the shot heard ’round the world” took place
- Concord was the center for American authors and thinkers, including Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, and Louisa May Alcott – take a walking tour to learn about their lives and see the homes of the famous authors who lived here
- Visit Harvard Square – home of Harvard University
- Finally, we toss some tea into the harbor at the Boston Tea Party Museum and learn about the events of that historic day
- Depart for home
