Anacapa DC & NYC Adventure 2025

Come join us on another incredible six-day trip to Washington, D.C. and New York City! Every year we have an incredible time and this year will be the best yet. We’ll experience the memorials, museums and government branches that tell the story of America, past and present. Then we’ll head up to New York City to immerse ourselves in the communities that make New York the most diverse city on earth. Along the way we’ll see all the famous sights and neighborhoods that make the city so special.

Day 0 – March 21 – Travel to Washington D.C.

Ride on your private motorcoach directly from Anacapa Middle School to LAX.
Leave LAX on an overnight flight to Washington, D.C., arriving in the morning.
Be sure to get some rest on the flight, you’ll hit the ground running upon arrival in DC!

Day 1 – March 22 – Washington D.C.

Head straight into the city after landing at one of the DC airports and see your first memorials
Explore the National Museum of African American History and Culture
Lunch
Spend the afternoon in the powerful Arlington National Cemetery, where you’ll watch a couple selected classmates participate in a Wreath Laying Ceremony.
Dinner
Spend the evening hours exploring the Tidal Basin Memorials: Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson and Martin Luther King, Jr.

Day 2 – March 23 – Washington D.C.

Tour George Washington’s Mount Vernon
Lunch
Tour the U.S. Capitol Building and the Library of Congress
See the White House, Lafayette Park and other iconic buildings of DC
Dinner
Enjoy the evening hours touring the “Big 3” – The Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Veterans Memorial, and the Abraham Lincoln Memorial

Day 3 – March 24 – Travel to NYC via Philadelphia

Depart D.C. for Philadelphia early!
Lunch
Tour Independence Hall and Downtown Philadelphia (including the Rocky Statue)!
Depart Philly for NYC!
Check in to our central Manhattan hotel. Staying in Manhattan makes all the difference: you feel like a local, and can accomplish so much more in a day than you ever thought.
Dinner
Evening visit to the observation deck on The Edge at Hudson Yards

Day 4 – March 25 – NYC

Explore Central Park and the iconic sites, sounds, and smells within!
Get lost in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (aka the MET)!
Lunch
Explore New York’s Midtown, home to the most famous landmarks: Times Square, Columbus Circle, Fifth Avenue, Grand Central Terminal, and more!
Dinner
Witness a Broadway Show!

Day 5 – March 26 – NYC

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
Lunch
Financial District & 9/11 Memorial
Explore the Financial District, Chinatown, Little Italy and/or Greenwich Village!
Dinner in Chinatown!
Continue Exploring Lower Manhattan

Day 6 – March 27 – NYC & Travel Home

Venture further out with Mitch as you explore (by bus) around some of the lesser traveled areas of NYC – Such as the Brooklyn Bridge!
Lunch
Continue Exploring NYC on the bus until it is time to head to the airport and check in for your flight home
Fly home
Board your private motorcoach transportation at LAX and ride back to Anacapa MS

About YOUR group leader

Mitch Bach is the owner of the company, and will be the 24/7 tour guide/trip leader. He has nearly 20 years’ experience leading student tour groups around the world. He is a graduate of the University of Paris-Sorbonne, with majors in History and Philosophy, and runs a tour guide training school called TripSchool. He’s the author of four travel guidebooks for New York City, Boston, and D.C., and is in demand as an international travel industry speaker. He lives in Brooklyn, NYC.

We encourage you to pay by bank transfer, which is extremely easy to set up. The tour price is based on paying directly from your bank; paying by credit card will incur an extra 2.9% fee (charged by the processor).

Preferred Travel Protection Plan

We offer travel insurance as part of travel protection plans from our partner TripAssure.
To cover you for the unforeseen, we encourage participants to purchase travel insurance, which may include benefits for trip cancellation, trip interruption, missed connection, travel delay, medical expense/emergency evacuation, baggage and personal effects, baggage delay and more.
Covid-19 and its various strains are treated the same as any other Sickness under the travel protection plan.
TripAssure offers the Basic, Deluxe Plan and Deluxe Plus Plan options. Familiarize yourself with the
contents of each plan to ensure to get the one that best suits your needs.
The travel protection plan that includes “Cancel for any reason” coverage must be purchased within 21 days of enrollment with your deposit.
